What do you like most about being an Underwriter?

Since the role sometimes requires me to memorize information to apply rules to policies, I find it helps challenge and train my brain. The benefit is strong memorizing skills, which are also transferable to my everyday life. I’ve never forgotten an item on my grocery list.

Education or any other credentials: I’m currently pursuing the CIP designation.

Accomplishments: I started as an Underwriting Assistant in Aug 2018 and was promoted to Junior Underwriter in Feb 2019. This year, I received the 2019 Employee Excellence Award.

Career aspirations: I want to continue to grow and develop as an Underwriter and to further my knowledge of the insurance industry.

Hobbies and interests: I enjoy spending time with family and friends. Some hobbies of mine include cooking (but I hate baking), and travelling, with Mexico being one of my favourite destinations.
