This year, Pembridge is continuing its commitment to Bridges to Community Canada (BTCC), a charitable organization that builds homes for families who are in critical need of improved living conditions. Our past work has been around improving the lives of rural community residents in Nicaragua, and last year in the Dominican Republic, by building sturdy houses for families who have never known a home without a muddy floor or that can sustain volatile weather.

In March, our meaningful work continued, and we built new homes for two deserving families in the region of Santa Domingo, Dominican Republic. Here are a few pictures of our experience.

We are planning another “Pembridge and Friends” trip in 2020 from March 28th to April 4th. Our destination is yet to be determined. We would like to be able to return to Nicaragua, however due to the political unrest that continues in the region, our plans will depend on the safety factor for the team.

What we do know is we will be going to an area of severe poverty and helping change the lives of its residents. This is also a life changing experience for those who volunteer their time. Check out this article from Bob Tisdale about his experience in 2017, and you’ll understand how gratifying your commitment could be.

We have many industry colleagues already signed up, but there is still room if you want to join us. If you are interested in participating on the trip, or learning how else you can help, please contact tlauzon@pembridge.com.

Please consider joining the growing group of people from the industry who are making a concrete difference in the world, building hope, protecting families and changing lives, one house at a time.
